Il convento di Maria Regina Pacis è stato l'ultimo convento  costruito per i padri Passionisti giunti in Puglia, provenienti dall'Abbruzzo nel 1866 perchè esplulsi da quella regione dalla soppressione operata dal governo sabaudo.

A Monopoli già dal 1890 la fugace presenza dei Passionisti aveva suscitato interesse tra la popolazione ma si dovette attendere il 1921 per la costruzione, ad iniziativa di un comitato cittadino, di una piccola cappella con poche stanze annessevi su un suolo donato alla congregazione dal canonico  don Vito Aversa.

Nel 1947 fu posta la prima pietra per la costruzione della Chiesa annessa, progettata dall'ing. Giambattista Giannoccaro.

Alla fine del 1949 la chiesa fu benedetta e nel 1970 fu elevata al titolo parrocchiale ed affidata alle cure dei Passionisti i quali nel 1984 la lasciarono definitivamente.

The convent of Maria Regina Pacis was the last convent built for the Passionist fathers who arrived in Puglia, coming from Abruzzo in 1866 because they were expelled from that region by the suppression carried out by the Savoy government.

In Monopoli since 1890 the fleeting presence of the Passionists had aroused interest among the population but it was not until 1921 that a small chapel with a few attached rooms was built on the initiative of a citizen committee on land donated to the congregation by the canon Don Vito Aversa.

In 1947 the foundation stone was laid for the construction of the annexed church, designed by the engineer Giambattista Giannoccaro.

At the end of 1949 the church was blessed and in 1970 it was elevated to the title of parish and entrusted to the care of the Passionists who left it definitively in 1984.
